AFC CHAMPIONSHIP 2017
Northern Wolfpack 28 - 7 Western Warhawks
The 'Pack go undefeated, winning 28-7 over the 'Hawks in a grueling battle right down to the end.
With what looked to be ground and pound vs aerial warfare, these two teams were out to compete! The defensive battle was on as both teams were hungry for the ball with heavy pressure being produced upfront from DT Anthony Vea.
It wasn't long until Shaw found Roughan in the end zone for 7 with a familiar deep ball within the first half.
Heading into the second half it was truly anyone's game with both Teams feeling the pressure. A quick pick from Cornerback Jaka Payot turned things around heavily running it in for a Touchdown and giving the 'Pack a 14 point lead.
Pounding it up the middle with Warhawks star Runningback Arona Arona seemed to be a punishing gameplan, gaining first downs and blowing out defenders. With a few defensive adjustments, the run game started to slow down.
From here on the 'Hawks battled it through the air finally hitting Sam Hope in the Endzone on a flare. Yet that was the last time the 'Hawks would cross the line.
The 'Pack bounced back and fired in Touchdowns to both Rookies Shin Kato and Sam Morrison, scoring their firsts of the season and igniting some excitement into the team with flowing picks by Jimmy Roughan and Jaka Payot.
As the final moments wound down, the 'Pack took out another year again, holding up the coveted AFC Trophy.
An exciting year for Canterbury Football and a superb game played by all. #AFC

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK 4 RESULTS:
Northern Wolfpack 40 - 7 Western Warhawks
In what looked like to be a tough battle between West Coast offense vs Power Run, these two teams were here to bring it!

Northern Wolfpack 61 - 7 Southern Rebels
The ‘Pack secure the 2-0 record before the long weekend ahead! For the first time since the 2015 AFC Championship final, the Wolfpack and Rebels took the field once again.
Within the first few minutes of the game it looked like it could have gone either way, with Rebels star CB Sean Caddy nabbing a stylish fumble recovery. Both teams managed to stick it out with the ‘Pack eventually drawing first blood in the form of a Touchdown by WR/RB Jamaine Limu-Franklin establishing his dominance on the run. Rebels QB Zac Pentecost managed to bite back, hitting rookie Wideout Tom Koppen with a bullet across the center to find the Endzone for the Rebels.
Both teams looked to be under early pressure, with the defenses pouring it on. However, the ‘Pack managed to regain composure and settle in with QB Mase Shaw slinging in 7 TDs shared around receivers; Jamaine Limu-Franklin, Jimmy Roughan, Tim Hall & Asher Richards.
