AFC believes in developing the game to a high standard throughout our organisation. We are serious about providing knowledgeable coaches who can correctly teach the sport to all of our players and help grow them to reach their potential. Therefore, all of our coaches from Junior to Senior level must be fully accredited to coach American Football by completing the necessary USA Football training courses.

FLAG FOOTBALL cERTIFIED

STAGE F: Flag Football (non-contact)

After the successful completion of this learning path, you will gain an internationally recognised certification with USA Football for flag football.
The flag coach certification includes the following sections:

- Facilitating compulsory USA Football Heads Up session (practical)
After the successful completion of this learning path, you will be recognised as an internationally certified youth flag football coach (after successfully completing Stage F) and a certified youth tackle football coach.

- Foundations of Quality Coaching
- Transformational Coaching

- Abuse Prevention

- Principle of Safer Contact (including Equipment Fitting, Levels of Contact, Shoulder Tackling, Blocking & Defeating Blocks)
Stage C - Allows certified coaches to take up coaching positions within our Youth programme.

SENIOR COACH cERTIFIED

STAGE S: Senior Contact Football (Must have completed STAGE F & C)
AFC COACHING CERTIFICATION
This stage focuses on the contact game and the "ins and outs" of football, including schemes, strategy and game planning. Taking your coaching to the next level with more technical skills that can be delivered in the Senior league.
Stage S - Allows certified coaches to apply for coaching positions within our Senior contact programmes*.
*Coaches applying for positions at Senior level will be interviewed.
STAGE S: Senior Contact Football (Must have completed STAGE F & C)

- AFC coach lead sessions (practical)
